Bedi asks officials to identify cost effective sand substitute

Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi today asked the PWD officials to identify cost effective sand substitute.
Bedi held a meeting of officials for reviewing the progress of works executed by the department and also projects to be taken up in the Union Territory.
She said in a whatsapp message to the media after the meeting that she had asked the department to identify cost effective sand substitute.
The department should also work out plan for maintaining under ground pipe lines.
Details of the projects relating to the drinking water supply being implemented with the funding by the France based development agency- AFD (Agence Francaise pour Developement)- should be collected for discussion at the next meeting of the PWD slated for last week of February.

People can also pass on information about the bad roads to the control room in the department for rectification.
