Bedi assures women sanitary workers prompt action to end woes

Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi today assured women workers engaged under Swachh Abhiyan scheme in the Union Territory that their grievances would be redressed without any delay by the administration.
Addressing the workers at Raj Nivas ahead of International Women's day, Bedi also asked them to bring to the notice of supervisors, their grievances for prompt action and corrective measures.
"Workers are not mere sanitary employees but are sanitation engineers rendering very useful services to the society under most difficult environment and also at the risk of their own health and hygiene," she said.
A release from Raj Nivas said the Lt Governor thanked the "Swachh army for keeping Puducherry neat and clean.
