The committee has sought views of film viewers on the certification process being followed by CBFC and suggestions within the ambit of the existing Act, Rules and guidelines which have withstood the scrutiny of various courts, to enable them to finalise their recommendations.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting had on January 1, constituted the committee for holistic interpretation of the provisions of the Cinematograph Act and Rules.
Earlier I&B Minister Arun Jaitley had said that he would like the certification board to be "controversy-free".
