Bengal special road safety week from April 3-8

A drive on road safety would be undertaken in West Bengal between April 3 and April 8.
Director General of Police Surajit Kar Purakayastha and Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar told reporters informned about this after meeting Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
'Safe Drive, Save Life' program will focus on the highways, the use of more breath analyzers to penalize drunken drivers and to create awareness on road safety, they added.
Thespain Soumitra Chatterjee's grandson Ranodeep Bose survived a near-fatal road accident yesterday and is in critical condition in hospital. Noted Bengali folk singer Kalika Prasad Bhattacharya died last month in yet another road mishap.
