Better website, app soon for info on UP govt's development

Amid the Centre's thrust on Digital India, the Uttar Pradesh government's information department will soon upgrade its website to accelerate dissemination of news related to development works and events.
The website -- http://information.up.nic.in/ -- will have all the relevant information of any government event within an hour of the programme getting over, a senior official said.
Also an app version of the website will be made functional soon, Director of Information Department Anuj Jha said today.
The state government plans to develop a "social media hub", which will operate from the Lok Bhawan in the state capital, to provide all information about welfare measures initiated for the public.

"Details about various programmes and events of the government will be uploaded in an hour's time after the programme getting over," Jha said.
"Details pertaining to press conferences of chief minister, cabinet or any senior official will be uploaded on the website and the app after almost an hour of the programme getting over," he added.
Jha said the facility will initially begin from events and programmes taking place in Lucknow and later rolled out in other districts of the state.
"The website may become functional this month itself, while the app may start functioning from January," Jha said.
