Bhabananda Singh appointed Manipur BJP chief

Ahead of assembly polls in Manipur next year, BJP today appointed Ksh Bhabananda Singh as its new state party chief, replacing Th Chaoba Singh.
Chaoba Singh, a former Union minister, has been appointed convener of the State Election Management Committee, a party statement said.
Manipur is going to polls early next year.
Congress is currently in power in the state but BJP has made some inroads there with the party winning two seats in by-elections.
