President of the forthcoming 88th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan, Sadananad More, said yesterday that the Bhagwad Gita is a global scripture and its range should not be restricted to the country alone.
He was inaugurating the 13th state students meet of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarti Parishad here entitled 'Pratibha Sangam'.
"Do not confine the Bhagwad Gita to the four corners of religion or nation. Gita is the literature of the world," he told the gathering.
He also criticised another former president of the Sahitya Samelan Balchandra Nemade who had said that literary meets are the business of "people who do not have any work".
