A little over 70 workers of Bharat Sena were detained here today when they attempted to stage rail roko in the city station seeking among others immediate withdrawal of Article 370 giving special status to Jammu and Kasshmir.
Led by the outfit state President, Senthilkannan, the workers raised slogans in support of their demands, including implementation of Uniform Civil Code, police said.
The protesters wanted the government to provide scholarship to Hindu students as extended to Christian and Muslim students.
The workers were detained and later let off, police added.
