Bharti Airtel appoints Nilanjan Roy as Global CFO

Telecom major Bharti Airtel today announced top level reshuffle, where it has appointed Nilanjan Roy as Global Chief Financial Officer.
Roy succeeds Srikanth Balachandran, who is being appointed as the Global Chief Human Resources Officer, Bharti Airtel said in a statement.
Balachandran had been the Global CFO of Bharti Airtel since April, 2011.
"The company has appointed Nilanjan Roy as the Global Chief Financial Officer with effect from August 5, 2015... He is currently the CFO for the India and South Asia business," it added.
Previously, Roy held the roles of Financial Controller and Controller -- India Mobile Business, it said.
Besides, the company has also appointed Rajiv Mathrani as Chief Brand Officer.
"Rajiv will lead Airtel's brand positioning, strategic initiatives and associations, and will report to Srini Gopalan, Director - Consumer Business, Bharti Airtel (India)," it said.
He takes over from Mohit Beotra, who has decided to move on from Airtel to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities.
"Mathrani's leadership and rich experience will significantly contribute to strengthening the bond that brand Airtel enjoys with its customers, and contribute to our endeavor of building a brand of the future," Gopalan said.
Mathrani joins Airtel from Pepsico where he led the snacks category and portfolio strategy for Lay's, Kurkure, Uncle Chipps and Cheetos.
He has also been associated with companies like Marico Industries, Citibank and GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare.
