Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said more facilities for tourists would be developed at the Bhindawas bird sanctuary here keeping in view the huge possibilities of tourism in the area.
He said the youth of the area would be able to offer their services as guide for tourists visiting the sanctuary.
"The district administration would provide special training for three months to the youth after which certificates would also be provided to them," Khattar said after visiting the bird sanctuary.
The Chief Minister said besides developing the largest wetland of the state as a tourist destination, more facilities would be provided at the lake in the sanctuary.
He described the sanctuary as a "centre of attraction for the tourists" as migratory birds in large numbers from across the globe flock this place every year from September to March.
Keeping this in view, more facilities would be provided to tourists for birds watching, Khattar said.
"These facilities would include arrangement of camping at night and beautification of lake," he said, adding a departmental study would be conducted to develop the bird sanctuary.
He directed the officials of the wildlife department to provide a conducive atmosphere to the birds in the sanctuary and assured that the state government would provide all necessary support and cooperation to further develop this area as a tourism destination.
