The meet will mark the completion of 180 years of Mauritius, Pradeep Kumar Singh, General Secretary of Sampurna Bhojpuri Vikas Manch, an organisation of Bhojpuri-speaking people, said today.
Delegations from across the world including Thailand, South Africa and Australia will participate, he told a press conference here.
Singh said they would also take part in the Navratra festival to be hosted by Satya Sanatan Sangh in Bangkok.
A renowned Bhojpuri singer Bharat Sharma Vyas, who is also President of the Manch, would honour 35 Bhojpuri citizens living in Bangkok for past several decades with "Bhagirath Samman" for preserving Bhojpuri culture and tradition despite the influence of western culture.
Singh claimed the language was being spoken by over 20 crore people but it had not so far been given recognition as an official language.
