"MMRDA has invited e-tenders to improve the 5.7-km long pathway from Dasturi Naka to Matheran using all eco-friendly guidelines suggested by the Matheran Monitoring Committee in consultation with the Matheran Municipal Council," MMRDA said in a statement here today.
The project is expected to be completed in two years at an estimated cost of Rs 46.41 crore.
The Matheran Monitoring Committee recommended the beautification of the pathway and laying of paver blocks. The walkway, which will be constructed from clay, will connect people travelling from Dasturi directly to Matheran's market area, it said.
