"The 950 cartons smuggled liquor were of a Goa-based liquor brand and manufactured at Maurya distillery in Chandigarh," District Excise Officer Kuldeep Yadav said.
The accused were taking the liquor bottles to Ballia district but did not have any documents to substantiate the shipment, he said.
The liquor cartons were found concealed underneath other goods in the truck following which the duo was arrested, Yadav said.
