"The masses, including the farmers have been a suffering due to 'directionless' policies of the JD(U) regime which seems to be content with survival in power," the state unit BJP president Mangal Pandey told reporters here.
Apprising about the deliberations of the two-day Bihar BJP executive meeting which concluded here earlier in the day, he said the party leaders have pledged to oust the JD(U) government in the Assembly polls later this year.
He said that the Bihar BJP will raise its membership base to 75 lakh in the state against the earlier target of 50 lakh to ensure effective management of Assembly polls starting with booth level to the state headquarters.
In addition to the membership drive, a series of political programmes will be held in Bihar throughout the election year beginning with the former chief minister Karpoori Thakur's birth anniversary celebrations on January 23 next which will be attended among others by the BJP national president Amit Shah, the state unit BJP chief said.
Pandey also took the JD(U) government to task for not allotting a school ground for Shah's programme in the state capital on January 23 next and attributed it to 'vindictive' attitude of the senior JD(U) leader and former chief minister Nitish Kumar.
At Kumar's behest, the state government has repeated denied venues for the BJP's functions in Patna even as the same grounds have been used for political programmes by the JD(U), Congress and others, Pandey charged and reminded the ruling party that it will not remain in power forever.
