Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi had yesterday tabled the bill which was adopted by voice vote by the house today.
Modi said it would facilitate withdrawal of 3 per cent of the total budget for 2012-13 for the purpose of stepping relief, rescue and rehabilitation for natural calamity-hit people in the state.
Modi said the budget for 2012-13 was to the tune of Rs 78,686.82 crore and the passage of the bill would facilitate drawal from contigency of Rs 2360.60 crore out which Rs 786.87 crore was meant for relief and rehabilitation for calamity-jit people.
Rest of Rs 1573.73 crore would be used for other contingent heads.
