The Bihar government today said it would draw attention of the Centre for better protection and upkeep of tomb of Afghan ruler Sher Shah Suri situated at Sasaram.
Replying to a starred question of RJD's Nawal Kishore Yadav in Legislative Council, Minister for Art and Culture Sukhda Pandey said the department has received complaint about bad condition of the mausoleum and would draw attention of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
Union minister Jairam Ramesh during a visit to the mausoleum in September last year had lamented its poor condition and dirt strewn across there and promised to draw attention of union culture minister Kumari Selja.
The ASI is entrusted with the responsibility of upkeep of the Sher Shah Suri tomb in Sasaram in Bihar's Rohtas district.
