Gaya, however, still sweltered at a maximum of 40 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature in the state capital recorded a slight decline from yesterday, at 39.2 degrees Celsius, followed by Bhagalpur 38.4 degrees Celsius.
But in north and north-eastern parts, temperatures went below 37 degree-mark. Muzaffarpur recorded a maximum of 36.8, Purnia 36.6, while at Supaul it was 36.5 degrees Celsius.
Weather officials attributed this to slight rain at a few places in the north and northeastern parts of Bihar and cool easterly winds blowing across the plains.
