The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Principal Secretary (Cabinet Coordination and Secretariat) Ravikant told reporters here.

The Ericsson Power Ltd will set up the project at a cost of Rs. 7260 crore and complete it in 42 months, he said.

The thermal power project would provide employment for 145 skilled and unskilled workers, Ravikant said.

The state government also sanctioned proposals to create 422 posts each at the armed police training centre at Dumraon in Buxor district and district police force (constable) at Simtullah in Jamui district.

The state government approved another proposal by the finance department under which government employees could avail loans to purchase vehicles from the Central Bank of India in addition to housing loan, Ravikant said.
