The decision in this regard was taken by a Cabinet meeting presided by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Principal Secretary (Cabinet) Brajesh Mehrotra told reporters here.
Farmers would get diesel subsidy at the rate of Rs 30 per litre with the maximum limit being capped at Rs 300 per acre for watering Rabi crops, he said.
For primary Rabi wheat crop, farmers would get diesel subsidy for watering the crop thrice, once before sowing seeds and twice afterwards, but in case of other Rabi crops, they would be allowed subsidy only twice, Mehrotra said adding, the sanctioned amount of Rs 115 crore was part of the earlier sanction for Rs 315 crore for Kharif crops and alternative crop scheme.
The state government has also approved a proposal for a Comprehensive Financial Management System (CFMS) under which all treasuries and financial management would be fully computerised at an estimated cost of Rs 219.86 crore, the Principal Secretary said, adding the state-owned agency Bihar State Electronics Development Corporation limited (Beltron) would run and maintain the infrastructure for seven years.
The billing process would be done online in order to remove shortcomings in financial transactions in an expeditious manner, Mehrotra added.
