Bihar government has decided to improve health and sanitation in the state in the next five years with an investment of Rs 41,656 crore, Chief Secretary A K Sinha said today.
The statement was made by Sinha after a review meeting of the Human Development Mission by the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
The state government had set up seven committees under the Mission last year and asked each of them to frame roadmap for works to be undertaken in the next five years.
All the seven committees were directed to complete roadmap of their respective tasks so that the same could be put up before the state-level monitoring committee for deliberation this month, he said.
Out of the seven committees, two relating to health and sanitation submitted their proposals for discussion by the monitoring committee, Sinha said.
The other committees on education, art and culture, capacity building, uplift of the weaker sections and information and communication would submit their report later.
