The Governor and the Chief Minister garlanded a statue of the country's first Prime Minister installed in front of the Patna Junction.
State ministers-- Nand Kishore Yadav and Krishna Nandan Verma-- were also present on the occasion.
Later, the Governor addressed a function organized inside the Raj Bhavan premises on the occasion of "Children's Day" - which is celebrated on this day in the memory of Nehru's legendary fondness for children.
Meanwhile, another function was held on the occasion at Sadaqat Ashram, the headquarters of the Bihar Congress, where its acting president Kaukab Qadri recalled Nehru's efforts towards building a modern India.
