Bihar Governor Ram Nath Kovind today favoured setting up of a new wage board for journalists and non-journalists.
Stating that while he did not have any direct relationship with the issue, the Governor said it would be "good" if a new wage board is constituted "as the Constitution guarantees right to lead a dignified life to every citizen, including a journalist."
Kovind made the remarks while inaugurating the national executive meeting of Federation of PTI Employees' Unions here at which the Federation General Secretary M S Yadav had demanded that the Centre constitute a new wage board for journalists, non-journalists and contractual employees.
Speaking on the occasion, Sulabh International founder Bindeshwar Pathak said that PTI's role is important in social and development reporting and the agency is known for its true and accurate news stories.
