The information was given by Energy minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav gave while replying to a question of BJP member Rajnish Kumar in the state Legislative Council.
At present, the supply of electricity in the state is 2700-2800 MW, which is targetted to be raised to 5000 MW by end of the year as some projects are in pipeline, the minister added.
Providing details, the minister said that work was in progress on three units of 660 MW each at Nabinagar.
Likewise rejuvenation of Barauni thermal power was in progress, he added. From two units of KBUNL Kanti in Muzaffarpur, presently 220 MW electricity is being produced, he added.
Bihar has witnessed a sharp rise in availability of power which was absymally low at around 350 MW in 2005.
