Bike rider knocks down pedestrian, gets hit by taxi

Two people died in an accident that took place in the city last night, police said.
Dinesh Choudhary (22), who was riding a motorcycle, knocked down Chandrakant Kanakekar (57) when the latter was crossing a road in Marine Drive area at around 9 pm yesterday.
Choudhary also lost balance and fell on the divider, and a speeding taxi coming from behind hit him.
While the doctors at Saifee hospital declared Choudhary dead before admission, Kanakekar died during treatment at another hospital today.
L T Marg police have arrested the taxi driver Sambhaji Tiwari (62).
