The event will provide a common platform for technology developers, stakeholders, policymakers and other players in the bio-energy sector to update on the latest developments, a release from Sugarcane Breeding Institute (SBI), the organisers, said here today.
"The 'National Symposium on Bioenergy for sustainable development - The potential role of sugar crops', has been jointly organised by 'Society for Sugarcane Research and Development," Vijayan Nair, director, SBI, said.
Over 200 delegates from across India, including scientists from Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Council for Scientific & Industrial Research, Universities and Industry are participating in the event, to be inaugurated by K Ramasamy, vice-chancellor, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Nair said.
