Biting cold in Delhi, min temp at 6 degrees C

Delhiites shivered in biting cold today with the city recording a minimum temperature of 6 degrees Celsius even as the early morning fog disrupted railway services.
The minimum temperature plummeted to settle at 6 degrees Celsius, a notch below the normal while the maximum was recorded at 15.7 degrees Celsius, four notches below the season's average, said a MeT Department official.
Following an overcast morning, the sun came out of the hiding around 10 AM. Moderate to dense fog during the early morning hours delayed 43 trains while 17 were rescheduled.
The visibility was recorded at 1,200 meters at 5.30 AM in Safdarjung. It dropped to 400 meters at 8.30 AM and improved to 1,000 meters at 11.30 AM.
At Palam, the visibility was zero at 5.30 AM and 200 meters at 8.30 AM. It later improved to settle at 900 meters at 11.30 AM, the Met official said.
Humidity oscillated between 97 and 74 per cent.
The MeT office has forecast cloudy skies for tomorrow with the likelihood of moderate to dense fog in the morning.
"The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 18 and 5 degrees Celsius respectively tomorrow," the weatherman said.
Yesterday, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 19.1 degrees and 8.9 degrees Celsius.
