Premier management institute Indian School of Business (ISB) is planning to hold courses for legislators at its Mohali campus from next year, to make them understand about government's new policy initiatives and learn to work with bureaucracy in a better manner.
"We will now have courses for MLAs in future at our Mohali campus," Indian School of Business (ISB) Dean Ajit Rangnekar said here.
The weekly courses are meant to address major issues faced by several legislators in different states.
"When we talk to MLAs about regulations when any new policy comes up, they sometimes do not understand how to analyse it. Another issue (they face) is how to work with bureaucracy," he said.
The Dean said the Speakers of several state Assemblies have been approached to nominate MLAs for imparting training.
Rangnekar said the ISB will also have to look at the possibility of holding such courses in languages other than English to enable legislators learn better.
ISB has also plans to double its executive education facilities and triple its revenue in the next 7 years.
It is also looking to launch courses on manufacturing, health-care and public policy.
The institute is also mulling starting of short-term courses so as not to affect working people, the Dean said.
ISB has alreday held such courses at its Hyderabad campus.
