Soon after the news of Singh's election to the post came, BJP workers at the party office here burst crackers and distributed sweets to celebrate the occasion.
Similar celebrations at BJP offices were reported from all the 13 districts of the state where party workers expressed confidence that under Singh's leadership the party was bound to come to power at the Centre in 2014.
Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir unit of BJP held a function at party headquarters at Jammu to celebrate Singh's elevation as party chief.
The vast experience of Singh will guide the party to victory in 2014 Lok Sabha polls, former BJP state president Shamsher Singh Manhas said.
