BJP today condemned the alleged gangrape of a nun in a Nadia convent and said the increasing incidents of rape in the state "proves the lawless situation in the state."
"The incident is highly condemnable and we criticize the police inaction. The state has now become a state for rapes. The situation proves the lawless situation in the state," West Bengal party president Rahul Sinha said.
An elderly nun was allegedly gangraped by dacoits at Gangnapur in Nadia district early today triggering blockade of road and rail tracks even as Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee ordered a CID probe into the incident.
