"We are facing an energy crisis in the country. The Prime Minister has admitted that, but in the last ten years, the UPA government has not devised any energy policy. There has been no progress in working out an energy policy for industry or for the household," BJP national spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi told reporters here.
She said that wrong economic policies adopted by the Congress-led government had led to inflation and the high current account deficit (CAD).
The union government had no concrete policy for generating solar energy, hydel power and thorium energy, she said.
"The Centre has been a total failure in addressing fundamental issues related to country's economy," she alleged.
She claimed that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), is an incarnation of the Congress and a ploy to thwart the BJP from coming to power.
"Bina haath ke jaadu nahi chalta (Without a hand one cannot use a broom)," she claimed, adding that most of AAP members are from National Advisory Council (NAC).
