BJP demands judicial probe into syndicate system in Assam

The BJP today demanded a judicial probe into the 'syndicate system' in Assam which it said was leading to increased price of essential commodities.
State BJP president Sarbananda Sonowal alleged that Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi had failed to understand the hardship of the people caused by the price rise.
Accusing Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi of protecting the interest of black marketers, he told a workers meet here, "most party MLAs and ministers are involved in the syndicate system.
"Gogoi should give justice to the people as he got a lot of help from them in the last three elections," (to consecutively come to power)," Sonowal said.
Claiming that the BJP was the only alternative which could solve the state's burning problems, he alleged that the Gogoi's party, the Congress, had snatched away the purchasing capacity of the people, including MGNREGA labourers, tea garden workers and marginal farmers.
Party MP Ramen Deka hoped that the BJP would perform better in the state in the coming elections and said "Winds of political change are blowing all over the country. In Assam it will also hit the the Congress government for its massive corruption and uncontrolled price rise.
