BJP failed to keep its promise on inflation: Sachin Pilot

Rajasthan Congress chief Sachin Pilot today said the BJP had come to power by promising to contain inflation but have failed to back their words with actions.

Instead, said Pilot, inflation shot up during the BJP government's rule.

Addressing the party workers at a Congress demonstration rally here against inflation, Pilot said the BJP had failed to bring down prices of petroleum despite the crude oil prices falling in the international market.

"The BJP sought vote in the name of inflation control but on the contrary, inflation skyrocketed during the BJP rule," Pilot said.

"Both the Centre and the state governments are anti-people and have nothing to do with people," he said.

Congress party workers held demonstrations and dharnas in all the district headquarters of the state over the alleged lack of development in the past four years of the BJP rule.
