BJP leader shot at in UP

A local BJP leader who was an eyewitness in his son's murder case was today shot at and seriously injured when he refused to withdraw the case.
Shobharam Arya, 60, was shot at and shifted to hospital in serious condition when he refused to withdraw the case at Nagla Khepad village under Miranpur police station in the district this evening.
According to circle officer S K S Pertap, Arya was rushed to hospital.
The incident took place when he was returning home and old enmity was the reason.
His son Omvir was murdered in 2014 and he was eyewitness and complainant in the case.
He had been pressured to withdraw the case of his son's murder.
Meanwhile security has been tightened and extra police has been deployed in the area to ease tension.
