Panda, a first time MLA from the industrially developed Brajrajnagar, said in the Assembly, "I will be in the forefront of the agitation to protect the interest of local youths."
Panda alleged people in Brajrajnagar are on boil over the issue of employment to people from outside Odisha.

Industries Minister Debi Prasad Mishra said the state government was considering a new industrial policy on the matter.
