BJP MLA Sangit Som fails to appear in court

Controversial BJP MLA Sangit Som did not appear before a court here today and sought exemption from personal appearance in connection with a case of violating prohibitory orders and blocking road in 2009.
The court adjourned the hearing till March 4, 2015 according to prosecution.
The police had filed a charge sheet against five persons, including Som, for violating prohibitory orders and blocking road in Civil Lines area here on February 17, 2009.
The accused were protesting over law and order situation during BSP rule in Uttar Pradesh.
Som is also an accused in Muzaffarnagar riots.
