BJP MLA sent to jail for violating model code, granted bail

BJP MLA Sanjay Tiger was today convicted to 30 days' imprisonment by a local court for violating the Model Code of Conduct four years ago but was released on bail soon after pronouncement of the verdict.
First Class-I judicial magistrate Ashutosh Kumar convicted Tiger, who is BJP MLA from Sandesh assembly seat, and sent him to jail for 30 days besides imposing a fine of Rs 200.
He was later released on bail.
A circle officer, Janardan Singh had lodged a case against the BJP leader under provisions of the Model Code Act for pasting a poster on a bridge at Godhna road on September 20, 2010.
