"Nitish Kumar is organising a 'Swambhiman rally' by joining hands with those who soiled the honour and self-respect of Bihar ... By taking Lalu Prasad's support, JD(U)'S government may be saved but not the honour and respect of Bihar," senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi said in a statement here.
"To continue in power, Kumar fell at the feet of Lalu Prasad during whose party's 15-year rule in Bihar lakhs of Biharis after losing self-respect were forced to migrate to other states as labourers. Kumar has insulted Bihar by tying up with Congress during whose period Bhagalpur riots took place which claimed 1000 lives," he said.
"Oiling the sticks of those under whose rule more than 10,000 traders were forced to go out of Bihar to safeguard their respect - isn't it a betrayal with citizens?" the BJP leader asked attacking Kumar.
Speaking about ruling JD(U)'s alliance with RJD, Modi, who was the deputy chief minister during NDA rule in the state, alleged that honest officers were forced to pay for maintaining the rule of law and referred to the overnight transfer of Patna senior superintendent of police Vikash Vaibhav two days ago.
"Nitish Kumar should say how he will safeguard the honour of Bihar by demoralising officers," he added.
