BJP MP and Bhojpuri actor Manoj Tiwari tonight said only the saffron party can transform Mumbai.
Earlier in the day, Tiwari's car was vandalised by unknown persons and he was threatened with attack if he continued campaigning in the megacity, he said.
Campaigning ahead of February 21 elections to the Mumbai civic body BMC, Tiwari said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was committed to transform Maharashtra and Mumbai.
"Transformation of the city can take place only if you all vote for BJP," Tiwari said at a rally in Ramabai Nagar in suburban Ghatkopar tonight.
Tiwari has been holding rallies in the city in a bid to woo the sizable North Indian community.
"Some parties are shivering as we are surging ahead and emerging victorious. Opponents have lost their patience and want to intimidate us. But we are not going to be deterred. Country is in a fast-forward mode on the road of development under (Prime Minister) Modi and Maharashtra is developing fast under the leadership of Devendra Fadnavis," he said.
Earlier in the afternoon, unidentified persons threw stones at Tiwari's parked car, smashing up side-mirror, outside his house in Andheri.
"I will not be deterred by the cowardly attack on me, shows desperation of our losing opponents," the BJP MP tweeted.
"Some unknown people broke the right mirror of my car and left a note asking me to stop campaigning in BMC elections or (my) face will be broken next," he tweeted further.
Amarjeet Mishra, general secretary of Mumbai BJP, said they would be filing an FIR about the incident.
Mishra also said, without naming any party, that attack showed "fear and anxiety" in the opposition camp.
