BJP not giving due importance to NDA, says Shiv Sena

Observing that the importance of the National Democratic Alliance has dwindled after the Narendra Modi government came to power, Shiv Sena today called for a meeting of the NDA constituents.
"The importance of NDA has gone down. Maybe the new government does not feel the necessity of the NDA as it enjoys total majority," Sena leader Sanjay Raut told reporters here.
Raut said senior BJP leader L K Advani used to hold NDA meetings even when the party was not in power.
"Time changes. One should remember that elections are going to take place in states and the country. The situation is changing. In the changing atmosphere, the need of NDA will be felt," he said adding, "Who has seen tomorrow!"

During the Vajpayee and Advani era, there used to be regular meetings of the NDA and there used to be communication (among NDA constituents), the Sena MP said adding, "Not so now. The last such meeting (of NDA) was held a year ago while electing Modi as the PM."
Calling for a meeting of NDA constituents, Raut said, "It should be noted that in the last 10 years out of power, it was only Shiv Sena and Akali Dal, who remained with the NDA," he said.
Asserting that NDA was essential in the country's politics, Raut said opposition attacks can be repelled strongly if NDA is cohesive.
