State BJP President Jugal Kishore Sharma said his party will oppose the move tooth and nail.
"The demand made by senior Congress leaders while meeting the Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand-led Cabinet sub-committee on creation of new administrative units in the state yesterday, if accepted, would provoke political explosions in Jammu province," he said.
The leaders had demanded creation of 'Chenab Valley Autonomous Hill Development Council' for the erstwhile Doda district comprising Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar areas, he said.
"Division of Jammu province would undo all that the nation has done in the state during all these 65 years of independence to integrate it with India politically and constitutionally," he said.
