The meeting chaired by party state unit president Tai Tagak welcomed the promulgation of the President's rule in the state by President Pranab Mukherjee yesterday.
"The party meeting observed that President's rule was necessitated to end the "long and unending" political instability created by the Congress government in the state," party spokesman Techi Necha said in a statement here.
The ruling Congress had completely undermined the people's mandate and indulged in factional infighting and rebellions at the cost of the state's development and well-being of the people, he said.
AICC could have resolved the crisis and stopped dissident activities which have been taking place for a long time, he said.
BJP hoped that under the central rule, Governor Jyoti Prashad Rajkhowa would initiate appropriate measures to contain corruption and financial mismanagement without compromising transparency and accountability.
