Opposition BJP today criticised the Nitish Kumar government for omission of names of people who had died in serial bomb blasts at Narendra Modi's rally for paying condolence while RJD protested non-inclusion of demolition of Babri mosque in the list.
The Bihar Legislative Council witnessed opposition members standing on their feet protesting "incomprehensive" list for paying condolence in the House on the opening day of six-day winter session today.
As Chairperson Awdesh Narain Singh completed reading list that included South African leader Nelson Mandela for paying condolence, leader of Opposition Sushil Kumar Modi rose from the seat and protested omission of names of seven persons who had died in serial bomb blasts during rally of Narendra Modi in Patna on October 27.
Making a scathing attack on the government, he alleged it was part of its "vote bank" politics.
"The Chief Minister himself had visited the blasts victims in hospitals and also gave them compensation so what is the rationale of not including them for paying condolence in the House today," Modi, who was deputy chief in NDA government said.
As Sushil Modi finished, RJD Legislature party leader Gulam Gaus pointed to non-inclusion of victims of demolition of Babri mosque in the list. All the RJD members including former Chief Minister Rabri Devi were wearing black robes to protest Babri mosque raging on this date in 1991.
Later, after the Chairperson announced adjournment of the House till Monday, the BJP members rose from seats to pay respect to those who died in explosions during Narendra Modi rally even as other members went out of the House.
