Accusing BJP and RSS of trying to create "communal divide" in the country, CPI(M) West Bengal unit secretary Surjya Kanta Mishra today alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was being "controlled" by the RSS.
"The BJP and RSS are trying to create communal divide in the country. Both the BJP and our Prime Minister Narendra Modi is being controlled by RSS. BJP and other right wing forces are trying to control people's food habits and are deciding whether anyone will consume beef or not. Who are they to do that? This is a secular country," Mishra told a gathering here.
"Now they will decide what will you eat and what you will keep in your refrigerator," he said in reference to the lynching incident in Dadri, Uttar Pradesh.
Without naming anyone, Mishra also took a dig at Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, saying, "Some (BJP) leaders are asking those who eat beef should leave the country.
