"The Nitish Kumar got the booking of S K Memorial Hall by the BJP for celebration of Karpoori Thakur's birth anniversary on January 24 out of fear of losing Extremely Backward Caste (EBC) support," senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi told reporters.
Despite accepting booking amount for the venue, the administration cancelled it on a flimsy ground that it was booked a year ago for that date for some other function, he said.
Showing a clear intention to take on Nitish Kumar government on the issue, he said the party would observe the function on January 24 at the same venue even if it meant confrontation.
"BJP workers will be ready for arrest if the administration prevented us from the function," he said.
Sushil Modi further accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of harbouring a bias against the BJP and that previously, the Miller school ground had been cancelled at the last minute last year for a function of party chief Amit Shah.
