Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Keshav Prasad Maurya today claimed that the voters of the state will follow the mantra of "SP saaf, BSP saaf, BJP top" (SP, BSP wiped out and BJP on top) and riding on the developmental agenda of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the saffron party will form the government in the state in 2017.
"The voters of the state will follow the mantra of 'SP saaf, BSF saaf, BJP top' in 2017. People are fed up with the atmosphere of corruption and 'Goonda Raj' prevailing in the state. The developmental agenda of the Modi government will see the BJP form the government in Uttar Pradesh with more than 350 MLAs," he claimed.
Maurya was talking to reporters before taking part in a convention of BJP's district-level officials.
"The goons of the Samajwadi Party (SP) enter girls hostels and misbehave with the inmates there but the chief minister looks the other way," he alleged.
Alleging that state minister Azam Khan had "insulted" BR Ambedkar, he said the BJP would not tolerate this. "The Dalits will give a fitting reply to the SP," he claimed.
The state BJP chief alleged that the Uttar Pradesh government was "struggling" to spend the money allotted to it by the Centre under various schemes.
"While the other states have spent all the money allotted to them, the Uttar Pradesh government has managed to spend only about 14 per cent of the funds," he claimed.
Maurya alleged that while the other states had agreed to the Centre's proposal to ensure 24x7 power supply, Uttar Pradesh had stayed away and that is why the state was facing a power crisis.
He also accused the state police of working "in the garb of SP activists" and alleged "widespread corruption" among the officials posted in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Later, at Meerut, Maurya described Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav as the "most unsuccessful chief minister" and took a jibe at his government saying it has now "remained only in advertisements".
After being declared the Uttar Pradesh BJP chief, this was Maurya's first visit to his predecessor Laxmikant Bajpai's constituency.
Talking to reporters, he alleged that the law and order situation in the state was "completely destroyed" and the ruling dispensation was "protecting" criminals and the mafia.
"The situation is so bad that criminals are not scared of the police anymore. In fact, it is the other way round," he said and claimed that more than 150 police personnel have been killed in the state during the current political regime whereas, the number of criminals neutralised was far less.
"Akhilesh is an anti-development chief minister. He is against the rural population, the poor, the farmers and the youth. He is the most unsuccessful chief minister in the country," he alleged.
Maurya claimed that the Uttar Pradesh government had initially not implemented the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna. "When they did implement it, they also brought sugarcane within its ambit," he said.
Accusing the SP, BSP and Congress of "being Ph.D in corruption", the state BJP chief alleged that there were scams worth Rs 12 lakh crore during the UPA regime in the country and there was "support from SP and BSP" in this.
Taking a jibe at Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's 'khat panchayat', he said, "Rahul and his mother (Congress president Sonia Gandhi) had won from Uttar Pradesh in the 2014 Lok Sabha election with SP's support. To pay them (SP) back, he is now holding khat panchayats. But, the people have taught him a lesson."
Describing BR Ambedkar as "not only a Dalit icon but a national icon", Maurya accused Uttar Pradesh minister Azam Khan of calling him a "land mafia" and said the BJP will "not tolerate" any insult to him.
He demanded Khan's expulsion from the state cabinet and a case be lodged against him.
Training his guns at BSP chief Mayawati, Maurya claimed that her supporters had "deserted" her as she had "become rich" by selling "the poverty of the poor and the blood of the Dalits" (gareebon ki gareebi aur Daliton ka khun).
Referring to Mayawati's Saharanpur rally earlier in the day, he said, "Instead of mounting an attack on her 'nephew' Akhilesh, she tried to protect him. I think, it is a ploy to save those 22 former BSP ministers who are facing cases of corruption.
