BJP in Uttarakhand will take out a march from the banks of the Ganga in Haridwar on April 17 to "expose" corruption that allegedly flourished during the Congress rule in the state.

To be led by state BJP chief Ajay Bhatt, the "Bhrashtachar Hatao, Uttarakhand Bachao" yatra will commence after offering prayers to the river and reach Rampur Tiraha the same day where floral tributes will be paid to the martryrs of the movement which led to the creation of Uttarakhand, state BJP media in-charge Devendra Bhasin said today.

A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of party office-bearers here.

"The yatra will expose the corruption which flourished under Harish Rawat and appeal to people to save Uttarakhand," Bhasin said, adding, "Deposed chief minister Harish Rawat was solely responsible for the ills plaguing the state at present."

From Rampur Tiraha, the yatra will reach Narson and Roorkee and will proceed for Haldwani the next day (April 18) and return to Dehradun on April 19, he said.

All party MPs and MLAs will participate in the yatra including former chief ministers Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Bhagat Singh Koshiyari who currently represent Haridwar and Nainital constituencies in the Lok Sabha.

The course of the yatra after April 19 will be decided later, he said.
