BJP urges NIA to look into support system for terrorists

Accusing a section of the Trinamool Congress leadership of being hand in glove with terrorists involved in the Burdwan blast, BJP state president Rahul Sinha today appealed to the NIA to look into who were supporting them to set up base in Burdwan.
Sinha also pointed out that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during her tenure as Lok Sabha MP in 2007 was the member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs which passed the decision to set up NIA.
"From the very beginning, the state government has been trying to subvert the investigation. When the investigation was handed over to NIA, they started non-cooperation with them. Who are they trying to protect? It needs to be answered," Sinha said wondering why she was opposing now.

Sinha said that the rampant appeasement of a "particular community" for vote bank politics had turned peaceful Bengal into a safe heaven for terrorists, which in turn became a serious threat to national security.
"Instead of condemning the terrorist act, she, in her Facebook post, is opposing the NIA probe. What message is she trying to convey? The people of Bengal will give this opportunist and appeasement politics a befitting reply," Sinha said.
He said that the state government should take steps to ensure that anti-India activities did not take place in Madrasas in the name of religious teachings.
