Supporters of Misra and Shahi, who has been denied ticket from the seat, clashed in which some of them also received minor injuries, sources said.
Misra was also shown black flags allegedly by Shahi's supporters.
Ever since Misra has been made the BJP nominee from the seat, protests have been going on in the area by supporters of Shahi and former MP Sriprakash Mani Tripathi.
Both of them were not present when Misra arrived here yesterday for the first time in the constituency.
