"We have been saying from the beginning that the culprits should be punished. Those who have looted the money should be punished and their property should be confiscated. Now a situation has arrived where those involved in Saradha scam will be punished," Yechury said.
"Now these TMC leaders are thinking that by joining BJP they can save themselves as BJP is in power in New Delhi. So if they are going there to seek protection and BJP gives these leaders shelter in their own party then BJP too will be culprit of the same measure as of TMC. Because he who commits crime and he who gives shelter to criminals are criminals of same measure," the CPI(M) politburo member said.
Recently several TMC leaders and MPs have openly made anti-party statements and have taken a stand which is diagonally opposite to the stand taken by the party on Saradha Scam.
