BJYM demands death penalty in sexual assault of girl inmates

BJP youth wing Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) today demanded death penalty for those involved in sexual exploitation of mentally challenged girl inmates at a facility run by Rotary Inner Wheels in the city.
"We demand the accused should be given death penalty without going through a lengthy court trial," BJYM state general secretary Ajay Pargal and state vice-president Bharat Sharma said in a joint statement here.
Pargal said, rape incidents were on the rise in the state due to weak enforcement of law and demanded setting up of fast track courts in the state to deal with such cases.

Several other political, social and religious outfits today held protests in different parts of the city demanding strict action against the accused.
A director and a guard of a Home for mentally-challenged children in the Channi Rama area of Jammu have been arrested on charges of sexually abusing five girl inmates.
